There’s more to Portland than good beer. Find out what libations Portland has to offer on The Local Pour Tour.
We’ll first meet you in the heart of the Old Port at The Thirsty Pig. This local watering hole prides itself in offering a wide selection of Maine beer, cider and mead while serving up tasty homemade sausage.
Hop on the bus and we’ll head over to Maine Mead Works. Mead is the oldest of all fermented beverages and Maine Mead Works uses locally sourced honey to produce distinctive and award winning wines. Here, we’ll get a behind the scenes look at how the mead is made followed by a private tasting.
We will then head over to the East Bayside neighborhood to check out a corner of Portland bursting with libations. First we’ll take a tour and sample beer from a true nano-brewery, Bunker Brewing Co. housed in an old brick scrapyard building where they craft small batch ales and lagers by hand.
Over to Urban Farm Fermentory we go. Urban Farm Fermentory produces a variety of cider and kombucha. We’ll check out their sustainable and growing operation and sample the cider and ‘booch. We will have time to also check out the other purveyors in Urban Farm.
We’ll then drive over to Maine Craft Distilling established in 2013, they run a farm to flask operation to produce a wide variety of spirits.
Our tour ends back at The Thirsty Pig. We’ll have about 45 minutes at each stop. If time allows, please feel free to check out some merchandise or grab some beverages to take home, we’ll keep it cold on the bus!

Beast of the yEast Tour (Make Reservations)
Every Saturday 3:15-6:15pm
The Beast of the yEast Tour, visits East Bayside an up and coming area of Portland commonly referred to as yEast Bayside due to the many businesses that use yeast. We will visit 4 of them. First we’ll take a tour and sample beer from a true nano-brewery, Bunker Brewing Co. housed in an old brick scrapyard building where they craft small batch ales and lagers by hand.
Next up is Rising Tide Brewing co. Rising Tide is a brewery specializing in artisanal, handcrafted ales brewed in small batches. We will check out their new 15-barrel brewhouse and you guessed it, sample their beers.
Onto the newest kid on the block. Maine Craft Distilling. This is a brand new farm-to-flask operation. They plan to produce a carrot-based gin called Chesuncook, as well as a rum “Ration”, a single malt whiskey “Fifty Stone” and a vermouth.
Over to Maine Mead Works, where you will get to taste a variety of Mead’s that are made using a continuous fermentation method which is one of two like this in the world.

The Casco Fiasco Tour (Make Reservations)
Welcome to Portland, Maine! This tour will take you to 4 of Maine’s premier breweries and brewpubs to sample the variety of beer styles and tastes and includes lunch. Our tour will begin at Allagash Brewing Company; here we will have an in-depth look at New England’s original Belgian-Style brewery and one of the industry’s most distinguished and well-respected brands. You will have a chance to sample their award-winning beer, tour the brewery, as well as browse the retail store.
We will hop on the bus and head to lunch at Sebago Brewing Company in their newest location. Their vast offering of beers are brewed with all American malt, hops and crisp water from Maine’s Sebago Lake and are “well known as creative, high quality, unique beers that tempt and arouse the palates of New England’s beer lovers.” A full lunch is served with samples of delicious beer right from the tap.
We will head up the road to Bunker Brewing. One of the smallest breweries in Maine, where we will take a look into the “Bunker” and taste some delicious treats.
Around the corner will be our last stop we will visit Rising Tide Brewing Company, a brewery specializing in artisanal, handcrafted ales brewed in small batches. We will check out their new 15-barrel brewhouse and you guessed it, sample their beers.
We will have approximately 45 minutes at each stop. If time allows, please feel free to purchase a pint of your favorite beer, check out some merchandise or grab some beer to take home, we’ll keep it cold for you on the bus!
